Winston was surrendered to SNAFU Rescue via breeder release.  His breeder wanted him to be placed in a loving pet home to be spoiled and live out his life as a cherished pet!

Winston is a very happy, energetic, outgoing Frenchie.  Be ready for playtime, walks and outside backyard time with this boy because he is not your typical couch potato French Bulldog!  Winston seems to get along well with every human he meets, and loves every doggie that he's met while in foster care too!  He LOVES to wrestle and play with other dogs and seems to have a submissive, carefree personality.  He doesn't even seem to mind letting more dominant dogs take charge and boss him a little from time to time. He just brushes it off and says "Let's play!".

Winston is currently still working on potty training.  While he has been doing wonderfully with going potty outside, a regular and consistent schedule will help with his continued potty training in his new home. His current foster home has a doggie door and he has learned to use that pretty reliably!  As with all of our dogs, any adopter will need to be able to and willing to continue working on potty training with him.  He has also done great with crate training and sleeps quietly in his kennel during the night or when his foster family happens to leave the home. For his safety, we recommend that he keep a similar crating schedule when his humans are away from the home and/or he is left unsupervised so he is safe and secure while no one is home.  He does not know danger and is still learning what is expected of him inside the home.

Medically, Winston seems to be in great health!  As with many frenchies, and especially those who carry a Merle gene, he had some dry skin when he first came to us. That has been remedied in his foster home with a little coconut oil on his food daily to add some extra healthy oils to his diet.  He does have a slightly swollen salivary gland on the right side of his cheek.  This has been examined by our veterinarian and it has been determined that it causes him no pain, nor does it affect his quality of life in any way.  Any potential adopter will need to continue to monitor the salivary gland and if happens to show any changes, he may need it to have it removed at some point.  Other than that, he has been neutered, updated on vaccinations/wormings, had a dental and has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian!

Winston would do well in almost any type of home but since he is still working on potty training, and does not know how to potty on a leash, a house with a fenced yard will be preferred for him (opposed to a multiple floor apartment style dwelling with no yard).  We also think he'd love to go work with his new family if they wanted to take him with them to the office! He loves to meet new people and new dogs so this would be right up his alley!  If his people are not able to take him to work with them, no problem - he's completely happy sleeping the day away in his kennel as long as his people can arrange a mid day potty break for him!  Again, he is an energetic, active, very playful frenchie, and loves to play and wrestle with the other dogs in the home, explore and investigate what his people might be doing.  He loves to bounce around the yard outside so be ready for an active, outgoing, playful Frenchie if you apply for him!
