NOTE: Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3-4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.  We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog.  After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc.  Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular.  We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete.   That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not.

IF you happen to not be chosen, please don't feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter.  In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue.

ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog's foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply!  While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.

If an adopter can not keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.

Tiki came into SNAFU Rescue via breeder release. Her breeder wanted her to be placed in a loving pet home to be spoiled and live out her life as a cherished pet.

Tiki is a jovial, playful yet laid back Frenchie girl who loves playtime as much as her nap time.  Her favorite pastimes include taking many naps throughout the day, finding a plush squeaky toy to bounce around with and chewing on anything she can get her little paws on! Tiki is a social butterfly with an outgoing personality.  She can easily wrap anyone she meets around her little paw in the matter of minutes.  After a fun and active play session with her beloved squeaky toy or rope toy, Tiki is searching for a comfy place to lay her precious head.  If there is someone nearby with a warm lap to offer her, she will be the first in line!  This girl loves extra snuggles and cuddles especially when it involves a couch and TV time.  Post nap time, she is ready to enjoy the company of her furry foster sister outside to run the fenced in yard and perhaps find some shoes to steal!  Tiki loves to chew and can find items that are not dog friendly and is redirected to an appropriate chew toy.  She should not be left unattended while in the home as she does not know danger and is learning what are appropriate “TIKI safe” items to nibble on.  Tiki desires lots of attention and being around her trusted people is just about her favorite thing ever.  This overall happy girl however is still learning the ways of pet life and will need a family who is willing to spend time with her, provide the space she requires, offer her patience and introduce her to slowly to new things to build her confidence in her adoptive home.  Tiki gets along famously with the resident dog that is her size.  We feel she would most certainly do well in a house with a balanced, passive fur buddy to help learn the ropes of pet life from or equally okay as an only pet!  Tiki has interacted with cats and she incessantly barks at them therefore we believe that she would be best in a home without cats.  She has yet to meet a human that she hasn’t fallen head over paws for (big or small).  Her sweet and gentle personality would fit best with calm, gentle, dog savvy children 5 years or older.  As with all of our dogs, slow introductions to other dogs and children in the household is a must and she should always be supervised to make sure she and they are kept safe.

Tiki is still working on potty training. Her foster family reports she is most successful when sticking to a routine.  She is in need of a signal for potty as she will sneak away to have an accident as she is unable to communicate she has to go outside.  Her adoptive family will need to be willing and able to keep her on a regular and consistent schedule for her continued potty training success.  Her foster family reports she is completely crate trained and often willingly chooses her crate to relax.  For her safety, a similar crating arrangement is suggested when her humans are away from the home and/or when she is left unsupervised so she is safe and secure.

Medically, Tiki is in great health!  She has been spayed, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, heartworm tested, microchipped and has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian!

Tiki would do best in a home with a fenced in yard due to her overall love for the outdoors and her desire to run… run very fast and the fact she is still working on potty training!  She often thinks she is playing a game of catch when chased after!  A multi-style dwelling apartment with shared walls would not be ideal for Tiki as she has quite a voice and will bark.  A home with little to no stairs would be great for her.  She is uncomfortable with more than 4-5 stairs at a time and really struggles with going down them and could be troublesome and dangerous for her. We don’t think Tiki would be a great dog to take to the office due to her desire to share her voice and that could pose a distraction. Tiki would love a work from home/stay at home parent but if that is not in the cards she would happily sleep a few hours in her crate awaiting for her family to arrive home as long as she has a comfy bed, a soft blanket to lie her head on and is offered a midday potty break.

Tiki is such a sweet and loving girl; she will captivate you with her genuine cheerful disposition.  She is just in need of lots of attention, pets, snuggles and someone willing to show her the best parts of pet life! This lovable girl will be forever loyal to a family she can call her very own!

If you feel like your family might be the perfect forever home for Tiki, please submit an adoption application for her today!!
