NOTE: Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3-4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.  We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog.  After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc.  :-)  Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.  We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete.   That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not. :-)

IF you happen to not be chosen, please don't feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter.  In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue. :-)

ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog's foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply!  While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.

If an adopter can not keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.

Serfass found himself at the SNAFU Rescue via a private party surrender.  His family wanted him to find a loving home to live the rest of his life as a cherished and spoiled pet.

Serfass is an outgoing, playful, energetic, active and social English Bulldog. He is always ready to play with his beloved humans and his furry friends.  He has endless enthusiasm and can be found running to the door when a new guest arrives asking from some scratchies. He insists on being the very first one there to greet a new friend; in hopes they will quickly become his VERY best friend.  Serfass is able to win anyone over with his silly personality and his desire for fun, fun and more fun!  When Serfass isn’t burning off some energy outside, you can find him searching for any toy he can get his big paws on using them to engage his furry foster siblings.  His absolute favorite toy is a plastic yellow school bus.  When he sees that yellow bus his eyes light up with excitement like a kid on Christmas morning.  It truly is the most adorable thing to see and watch.  After a fun play session emptying his toy box, Serfass will settle inside for a 5-10min chew session with his nylabone.  Yes, it is a short relaxing moment as he is such a busybody and when there are people around him he wants to engage them.  He is a gentle soul with a puppy trapped inside!  Serfass is such a busy boy and has MAJOR FOMO!  He endlessly follows his foster family around the home so he doesn’t miss any opportunity for some fun.  In between all his activity, he desires the company of his humans and his foster siblings.  Nothing makes him happier than his humans or furry friends participating in all the things he loves.  Serfass loves his time with his people/dogs.  He will take any pets and scratchies offered, watch his humans every movement as they move about the house and his favorite…jumping up as high as he can to play with a toy!  Oh boy can he jump!  Serfass is loyal, intelligent, obedient and protective of his humans. Serfass currently lives with a few furry foster siblings.  He is VERY social, playful and interested in the companionship of other animals.  Serfass does have a habit of “playful biting”.  He does this to engage and it is NOT at all done in an aggressive manner.  It truly is a nibble however this behavior is unwanted and it will continue to be corrected in his adoptive home.  Serfass is experiencing a big transition and will need leadership and consistent positive reinforcement to help him adjust into his adoptive home.  Serfass seems to get along well with every human he meets but due to his size and his nibbling he can be a bit much around small children if not supervised properly.  His foster family believes he would be best in a home with dog-savvy, gentle, children 12yrs or older and would thrive in a home with another furry, playful companion.  As with all of our dogs, we recommend slow introductions between dogs AND supervision around children when introducing a new dog in your home to make sure both he and they are kept safe.

Serfass is 100% potty trained!  As with all of our dogs, any adopter will need to be able to offer him a consistent schedule to ensure continued success.  Serfass does not favor his crate as he prefers the comfort of his favorite chair for naps and bedtime. He is trusted in the home to roam and is a perfect gentlemen.  He does sleep quietly in a soft chair in his foster family's bedroom at night. A similar dog safe room/area is suggested for Serfass as her prefers the comfort of having more space.

Medically, Serfass seems to be in great health!  He has been neutered, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, heartworm tested, microchipped and has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian! He did have a lump removed from his neck and got the all clear after the biopsy came back!

Serfass would do best in a home with a fenced-in yard due to his love for the outdoors, his desire to play and his need to run the backyard (opposed to a multiple floor apartment style dwelling with no yard).  He begs for exercise and a large yard to run and play would be the best fit for this active and fun-loving boy!  We think he would eventually love to go to the office with his new family as he genuinely loves to be around his people and would love to nap away in an office environment.  You can’t take him to the office- that is okay!  He would much rather have a stay at home or work from home family member.  If that is not an option, Serfass would prefer companionship from a furry family member while his humans are away from the home.  He will need a potty break every 4 hours as he has a hard time holding it for longer periods of time. Serfass desires a family with an active lifestyle of which he can be included and one with a furry companion to play with!  He is very eager to please, looking for leadership and love. Serfass is a simple boy who loves a routine that needs stimulation from lots of activity!
