Update May 2014!

Russell has found his perfect forever home in Iowa!! He was not with SNAFU Rescue very long, but he still made a big impact on us and we will always remember our sweet little Russy.  His new mom just couldn't live without him, and we can see why!!  He loves to snuggle and just hang out near his people or on a lap.  His new mom is very happy to continue his snuggle time and has no other pets or kids, so little Russy will get to be the center of attention in a calm, low key household! Just his cup of tea! We are so happy for him and his new mom!

Congratulations to all!

Russell was surrendered to SNAFU Rescue via breeder release.  He was a former champion show dog and now that his show days are over, his breeder lovingly surrendered him to rescue so he could live out the rest of his live as a cherished pet.

Russell is a very sweet old man dog and has a very easy going personality!  He is very low maintenance and would prefer a low key, easy going household. As with any long haired breed, he does need her hair brushed/bathed regularly.  In the summer he gets his "lion cut" and he loves it! Russell spends most of his time just hanging out and sleeping.  He seems to like other dogs and gets along with her foster fur-siblings very well. Since he is so easy going and does very well with cats as well.  Russell is slightly leery of young children and their quick, fast moments seem to make him nervous, so we are opting to place him in a home with no children or older, respectful, dog saavy children, 8yrs or older.

He is not 100% on potty training but he is coming along nicely with frequent potty brakes and a consistent routine.  He is also crate trained and will sleep in his kennel quietly while his foster family is away from home.  At night, he sleeps in a dog bed next to the bed or in his kennel and seems very content with either option.  As long as the home is low key and easy going, he would do great!
