Piper was surrendered to SNAFU Rescue via breeder release. Her breeder wanted her to be placed in a loving pet home to be spoiled and live out her life as a cherished pet!
Piper is a total sweetheart of a Bulldog! You can quickly and easily win her heart. Piper loves attention, affection, scratches and pets. Shower her with those things and she will rapidly become your best friend. Piper LOVES her people and wants to be with her family at all times. Most of the time, Piper is just your average lazy bulldog. Cool breezes and sunning her buns in the warm sunshine on the back deck is one of her favorite past times. But don’t be fooled! Piper is not all rest and relaxation! She gets bursts of energy and loves to go for short walks, play with all of her toys and gently wrestle around with her foster dog sibilings. After all of that fun, it’s back to the comfy couch for a bulldog snooze. At her foster home, Piper lives with 3 children and 2 resident dogs. Piper gets along famously with everyone in the home. However, as with all our dogs, we recommend slow introductions between dogs AND supervision around children when introducing a new dog into your home to make sure he and they are kept safe to ensure a
smooth transition to his forever home.
Piper is still working on potty training. She is in need of a signal or sign for potty. Her new family must be willing to work with her on potty training. A regular, consistent schedule will help with her continued potty training in her new home. Piper is crated trained. She happily runs into her crate when you ask her (bribed with a treat in hand of course). She Piper has been invited to sleep in her foster parent’s bed and she loves to lay close and snuggle. She is not a morning dog and is not happy about an early morning alarm! Piper begrudgingly will go potty but it is right back to bed for this tired girl!
Medically, Piper is in great health! She is spayed, microchipped, heart worm tested, had a dental, is UTD on all of her vaccinations and has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian!
Piper successfully walks and potties on a leash. She is just very happy to be by your side and please you! A fenced yard with little stairs is preferred for Piper. She would be a great apartments dog if located on the first floor. Given her chill nature, Piper would love to go to work with her new family. If that is not an option, no problem! She will contently snooze the day away with a fluffy blanket while her new family is away at work as long as they can arrange a mid-day potty break for her.
If you feel like your family might be the perfect forever home for Piper, please submit an application for her today!!
Applications Are Under Review. We are no longer accepting applications for Piper.
NOTE: Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3-4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application. We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog. After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc. :-) Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another. We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete. That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not. :-)
IF you happen to not be chosen, please don't feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter. In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue. :-)
ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog's foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply! While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.
If an adopter can not keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.
