Applications are under review. We are no longer accepting applications for Mocha.
NOTE: Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3-4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application. We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog. After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc. :-) Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another. We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete. That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not. :-)
IF you happen to not be chosen, please don't feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter. In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue. :-)
ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog's foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply! While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.
If an adopter can not keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.

Mocha came into SNAFU Rescue via a breeder release. Her breeder wanted her to be placed in a loving home, be spoiled, and live our her life as a cherished pet.
Mocha is a very gentle and sweet girl who loves being around her people and foster siblings. She gets along well with the resident dogs and seems to get along with all types of dog personalities given her gentle nature. She has interacted with some bigger dogs at the vet’s office and was a bit nervous around them. She does great at meal time but she sometimes like to wander over to the other dog bowls if she is not being supervised closely. Some of her favorite pastimes include running and exploring all the rooms in her foster home, wrestling with her foster siblings, chewing on Nylabones, following her foster mom around from room to room, and cuddling next to foster mom on the couch.
Mocha is almost fully potty trained. Her foster family reports that she is working well with going potty outside and has only had an issue if she went too long without being let outside. She will need to be on a regular and consistent potty schedule. Maintaining this routine will be required to ensure her continued success with potty training in her new home. She has also done great with crate training and sleeps quietly in her kennel during the night or when her foster family happens to leave the home. For her safety, she will need to keep a similar crating schedule when her humans are away from the home and/or when she is left unsupervised so she is safe and secure while no one is at home. She does not know danger and is still learning how to be a pet.
Medically, Mocha seems to be in great health. She is spayed, heartworm tested, up to date on vaccinations/deworming, microchipped and has been given the go ahead for adoption by our veterinarian!
Mocha would do well in almost any type of home. She is used to going out with a fenced yard for potty breaks and does not know how to potty on a leash so a house with a fenced yard will be preferred for her (opposed to a multiple floor apartment style dwelling.) She would be fine going to work with her people, as long as she could be supervised and the area was dog proofed for her. If her people are not able to take her to work with them, no problem - she's completely happy sleeping the day away in her kennel. And she would always appreciate if her family can arrange a mid-day potty break for her, but she would be fine if not possible.
If you feel like your family might be the perfect forever home for Mocha, please submit an adoption application for her today!!
