NOTE: Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3-4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.  We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog.  After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc.  :-)  Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.  We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete.   That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not. :-)

IF you happen to not be chosen, please don't feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter.  In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue. :-)

ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog's foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply!  While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.

If an adopter can not keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.

Mike found his way into SNAFU via a private party. His family wanted him to be placed in a loving pet home to be spoiled, loved and live out his life as a cherished pet!

Mike has a quiet and reserved disposition.  He often is nervous in new situations but is able to overcome his timid actions and warm up quickly!   Mike is social around humans, other dogs and gently curious around cats.  He is a friendly, happy boy who loves extra cuddles and to be snuggled.  He enjoys romping around the quiet house and exploring every inch of his surroundings. Mike’s favorite pastimes include chewing on his favorite Nylabone (actually all Nylabone are his favorite) and taking a nap on the comfy couch.  He is adorably awkward as he tries to settle in for some snuggles but that doesn't stop him from trying!  He fancies short jaunts around the neighborhood stopping every so often to take in the new scenery and new people. His leash skills need some work but Mike is a quick study and will pick them up in no time!  After a perfectly suited walk for his size, Mike will search for his beloved chewie and snuggle up in any comfy spot he can find for a much needed nap.  Did we mention chews and snuggles again?!?!  Mike will always look for his people to partake in a cuddle session during his snooze.  He truly just wants to be with his people all the time as he finds comfort in their presence.  Mike’s overall gentle disposition allows him to get along with his furry foster siblings. He has a very kind temperament which is favorable when he is around other dogs.  Mike seems to get along with any dog of any size (cat’s too)!  He has yet to meet any human that he hasn’t liked but is awfully timid at first.  After the shyness wears off and the humans gain his trust,  Mike is flirting his way into their hearts.  Because of his lighthearted disposition, we feel Mike will do perfectly well with other dogs and with dog savvy, gentle, respectful children 8 years or older.  Mike stresses out around loud noises so a home without louder young children is required.  We also feel Mike would thrive in a multi-dog household as he emulates other dog behaviors and picks up quickly on what is expected in the home and proper dog manners.  Slow introductions to other dogs and children in the household is a must and he should always be supervised to make sure both he and they are kept safe.

Mike is fully potty trained!  As with all of our dogs, any adopter will need to be patient and willing to continue working on his potty training success as he acclimates to his new home and surroundings.  He is 100% crate trained and does not have any accidents while crated.  He sleeps quietly when his foster family happens to be away from the home as he has a comfy blanket and his favorite safe bone to keep him company.  Mike does sleep in his crate in the evening but would much rather share a bed and offer many cuddles with his new family!

Medically, Mike is in great health!  He has been neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested, had a dental, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, and has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian!

Mike would do great in any type of home that has very few stairs.  Although he can do a few stairs, he lacks the confidence around larger staircases and prefers to be carried by the loving arms of his foster family.  We think with some work and encouragement Mike can master more stairs in his future.  A home with a fully fenced yard will be preferred but not required as long as Mike is offered lots of outside time on a leash (as opposed to a multiple floor apartment style dwelling).  Mike loves to sniff and explore outside but is okay doing so on a daily walk.  Since Mike is quite a people's Boston Terrier, we think he would love to go to work with his new family if they wanted to take him with them to the office.  If his people are not able to take him to work with them, no problem at all - he's completely happy sleeping the day away as long as he has a furry companion, a warm soft blanket, a safe chew toy and his people can arrange for a mid-day potty break for him!  Mike is a little snuggle bug looking for a quieter home that can keep him warm with some comfy sweaters, one that can offer unlimited Nylabones, chin scratches, daily walks and lots of love and attention. He will repay all the love with his unwavering loyalty and lots of kisses!

If you feel like your family might be the perfect forever home for Mike, please submit an adoption application for him.
