NOTE: Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3-4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application. We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog. After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc. :-) Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another. We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete. That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not. :-)
IF you happen to not be chosen, please don't feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter. In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue. :-)
ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog's foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply! While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.
If an adopter can not keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.

Mazikeen found her way into SNAFU via a private party. Her family wanted her to be placed in a loving pet home to be spoiled, loved and live out her life as a cherished pet!
Mazikeen is a VERY active, playful, energetic and smart Bulldog Mix that enjoys romping around and exploring every inch of her foster home. She is adorably happy-go-lucky with the sweetest personality to match. She has a passion for the outdoors and often requests time outside to take in all the smells. Most of her outdoor time is spent lying in the cool mulch or grass or just running around exploring every inch of her fenced yard. Maze (pronounced Maizey) is play, play and more play! She will happily engage one of her four foster siblings in some gentle wrestling or a fun game of keep away with any toy that can be found . She fancies time with her toys and can often be found nibbling on her beloved bone. After a perfectly suited romp around the yard, Maze baby will search for a warm comfy place to snuggle up in and take in a much needed nap. Puppy naps are her favorite! If there is a spot next to her humans she will cash in on the opportunity to rest her precious head on their lap and quietly snore away! If her foster mama is working on her computer that is the green light for Maze to insert her office typing skills and on the keyboard or even participate in a company zoom! What a ham! Maze is a fast learner and she is currently working on a few bits of training but is recommended she participate in structured obedience training as this will help her learn what is expected in her home and what is considered proper dog manners. She is looking for a home with a strong, firm leader to help guide her into proper puppy/dog behaviors. Maze has yet to meet any human, big or small, that she hasn’t liked! Because of her lighthearted disposition, we feel she will do perfectly well with dog savvy, respectful children 10 years or older. She does have a tendency to jump when meeting new people, can be quite clumsy in general and still is in the “puppy” nibbling phase so older children are best suited for her. Maze’s overall fun disposition allows her to get along with any dog she meets (after a good sniff session of course). She has a very kind, passive temperament which is favorable when she is around other dogs. Maze would do best in a home with at least one other active dog of any size (she does extremely well with dogs around 30lbs). Slow introductions to other dogs and children in the household is a must and she should always be supervised to make sure both he and they are kept safe.
Maze’s foster family happily reports she is 80% potty trained. Her accidents are becoming fewer and farther between as long as she is kept on a strict schedule; she is still a young dog and is in need of a signal for potty. As with all of our dogs, any adopter will need to be patient and willing to continue working on her potty training success as she acclimates to her new home and surroundings. Maze is 100% crate trained. She does exhibit a bit of anxiety when first going in but will settle down and sleep quietly when her foster family happens to be away (her anxiety is improving). She is very motivated so offering her a yummy snack to entice her pays dividends. Maze does sleep in her crate in the evening but would much rather share a bed and offer many cuddles with her new family!
Medically, Mazikeen seems to be in great overall good health! She has been spayed, microchipped, heartworm tested, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, and has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian!
Maze would do great in any type of home since she is an expert at going up and down the stairs. Since she does love to explore, has a tendency to run and is still perfecting her leash skills a house with a fenced yard will be preferred for her (opposed to a multiple floor apartment style dwelling). Since Maze is quite a people's Bulldog, we think she would love to eventually go to work with her new family if they wanted to take her with them to the office once she has successfully completed some basic obedience training. If her people are not able to take her to work with them, no problem at all - she's completely happy sleeping the day away as long as she has a warm soft blanket, a furry buddy and her people can arrange for a mid-day potty break or two for her! Maze is a very sweet, loving and alert pup. She loves being near her people and thoroughly enjoys playing with other dogs, car rides, frolicking in the yard, finding sticks and napping. She is full of spark, love and adorable puppy energy.
If you feel like your family might be the perfect forever home for Mazikeen, please submit an adoption application for her.
