NOTE: Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3-4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.  We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog.  After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc.  :-)  Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.  We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete.   That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not. :-)

IF you happen to not be chosen, please don't feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter.  In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue. :-)

ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog's foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply!  While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.

If an adopter can not keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.

Marvin came into SNAFU Rescue via a commercial breeder release.  His breeder wanted him placed in a loving home to live the rest of his life as a loved and  cherished pet.

Marvin is a smart, laidback, sweet, playful, curious Frenchie puppy who enjoys the activity of playtime and a comfy spot for naptime. He has this adorable enthusiasm of a typical puppy but once all his energy has been exhausted you can find Marvin looking for a welcoming lap to take a much needed nap. You can often find him exploring every inch of the fenced-in yard, sniffing all the trees and plants, weaving in and out of landscaped foliage and engaging his furry foster pal in some play.  When he isn’t burning off some energy outside, you can find him searching for his beloved chewie to settle in for a quiet chew session.  He truly is content playing all by himself but also welcomes his foster sibling in his playtime as much as possible.  After a fun (and exhausting) play session with his friend, Marvin will take a little snooze on a soft comfy bed, next to his furry pal (really on top of them!) or preferably in his human's lap.  He can be mid-play and if he sees his humans sit down he will immediately run to them and request their lap to lay his precious little head.  Marvin can be such a velcro puppy!  He is quite inquisitive, confident and wanting to know where everything is in the home so Marvin must be supervised when wandering the indoors as he doesn’t know danger.  He currently lives with a BIG furry foster sibling. He gets along famously relentlessly demanding attention from them.  Marvin plays with him without fear and will climb all over him and chew on their legs (as much as they will permit). If his behavior is too much for his furry friend to handle, they will correct his unwanted behavior and Marvin will quickly comply.  If he thinks his play will be reciprocated, he is all in, but if his approach is too forward Marvin is respectful and redirects easily.  Marvin is just a puppy, is experiencing a big transition and will need firm leadership, consistent correction to help him learn proper dog behavior, learn proper dog manners and to know what is expected in his adoptive home. He is extremely smart and eager to please his humans so we know he will catch on to corrections very quickly!  Marvin seems to get along well with every human he meets (big or small).  His foster family believes he would be best in a home with respectful dog-savvy, gentle, children of any age.  Marvin would love to find a home with other dogs, specifically one that is balanced so he can continue to emulate good dog behavior!   As with all of our dogs, we recommend slow introductions between dogs AND supervision around children when introducing a new dog in your home to make sure both he and they are kept safe.

Marvin is fully potty trained!  He quickly picks up on things, mimics his foster sibling behavior, adapts well to routines and does his business outside when he is asked (albeit cold/rainy weather is not his jam).  Marvin is still a puppy and with all of our dogs, any adopter will need to be able to and willing to continue working on potty training with him, offering him patience, a consistent schedule and work with him on a signal for potty.  Marvin is crated when his family happens to be away from the home (for his safety).  He is not a fan of his crate and will cry/bark unless he is previously tired out prior.  He will need to be properly crate trained over time or given the opportunity to be trusted in a small dog proof space (he has done well in a small dog safe area).  Marvin is not a destructive puppy and with proper training can eventually be trusted in larger spaces.  He does sleep quietly (and accident free) at night.  We do think Marvin would love to share a bed with his adoptive family!  He loves the softer things in life, adores the plush nature of a human bed and is such a little cuddle bug!  For his safety, we recommend a similar sleeping schedule is kept for him.

Medically, Marvin seems to be in great health.  He has been neutered, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, microchipped and has been given the okay for adoption by our veterinarian!  Marvin arrived in rescue with a cleft palate.  He received several surgeries to repair both his hard and soft palates.  The surgeries were an overall success and his palate should not cause Marvin any issues in the future however it should be monitored for any changes as he ages.  In addition, his tonsils were removed to allow him to breathe better and reduce his snoring.  Marvin developed a dermoid in his eye during his time in rescue.  It has successfully been removed and his vision is PERFECT and will not need any long term care however his adoptive family needs to watch for any irritation/uncomfortableness as hair follicles may reappear and will have to be frozen to stop growth.  Marvin does suffer from those typical Frenchie allergies!  He receives a daily allergy pill to help keep them at bay in addition to a cytopoint shot during high allergy season.

Marvin would do best in a home with a fenced-in yard due to his explorative nature, his overall love for the outdoors, opposed to a multiple floor apartment style dwelling with no yard because Marvin can be vocal when in his crate and does not particularly like walking on a leash.  He LOVES being outside in the warmer weather so a large yard to run and play would be the best fit for this fun-loving yet chill boy! Marvin would love to go to the office with his new family since this sweet boy loves to always be around his people!  You can’t take him to the office- that is okay!  Marvin would much rather have a stay at home or work from home parent as he really does not like spending time alone.  Marvin is still training in many aspects so he is looking for a family that is ready for the needs and requirements of a young dog.  Marvin is searching for a family that can offer him a routine/structure, one with many family members to dote on him and one that can spend time with him doing all the things he loves (naps, outside time, cuddles and more)!

If you feel like your family might be the perfect forever home for Marvin, please submit an adoption application for him today!!
