Marsella's applications are currently under review.

We are no longer accepting new applications for her at this time.

NOTE: Please note that it will likely be at LEAST a 3-4 week *minimum* before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application. We typically give a week for a "grace period" for new applications to come in on any newly available dog in order to give everyone a fair chance to submit an application.  After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc.  :-)  Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.  We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete.   That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not. :-)

IF you happen to not be chosen, please don't feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter.  In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue. :-)

ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog's foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply!  While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.

If an adopter can not keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.

Marsella came into SNAFU Rescue after being purchased at a commercial breeder dog auction. Thanks to the help of generous donors we were able to secure 16 dogs, now nicknamed the #SweetSixteen.

Marcella is funny, sweet, loving, and is a great family dog.  Marcella follows her foster family throughout the house and wants to be part of the action.  She is such a good listener.  She has been around young children, older children, and adults and loves everyone of all ages.  She is very relaxed and has only barked once.  She loves playing with her toys and can keep herself entertained while playing but she loves when we play with her too.  She loves soft blankets and her soft bed.  She does go to her kennel for naps and does like to sleep in her kennel but we don't shut her kennel unless we are leaving for more then an hour.  She is leash trained and recently mastered going up and down steps.  She enjoys walks but we have been slowing working her up to longer distances.  Right now she prefers less then 6 blocks and enjoys watching everything around her.  At the dog park she is amazing.  She greets all the other dogs and loves to sniff and play in the bushes. One of her favorite hobbies is sleeping so when you go to work she is content taking a nap and resting up to give you kisses on your legs when you get home.

Marcella is fully potty trained.  She has learned to use the doggy door to go outside when she has to go potty or poo.  When she gets up from naps we do ask her if she has to go potty and she goes outside all on her own and goes potty.  If you don't have a doggy door we would recommend after naps letting her go outside to go potty.  She will go to the door but doesn't talk yet so it will take a little time to figure out her signal.

Medically, Marsella is in good health! Marsella has no known health issues.  She has been spayed and is UTD on all of his vaccinations/wormings.  She will need a home that will be willing to monitor her food consumption so she doesn't gain weight. With a consistent exercise plan she will be able to control her weight.  She is a good eater and we place her food bowl with our dogs and she has no food aggression.  She uses the water fountain perfectly and does enjoy a treat when she is a good listener.

Marcella will do great in any loving home.  She adapts well to change and really tries to make her humans happy.  She is a cheerful dog and her foster family reports she has been amazing in their home.  She will excel in a home that makes her part of the family and includes her in their adventures. Marsella would do well in almost any type of home but since he is still working on potty training a house will be preferred for her (opposed to a multiple floor apartment style dwelling). She's completely happy sleeping the day away in her kennel while her family goes to work as long as she gets a mid-day break!

If you feel like your family might be the perfect forever home for Marsella, please submit an adoption application for her today!!
