Marley was surrendered to SNAFU Rescue via a private party. Her owner no longer could provide proper care and wanted her to be placed in a loving home and to live out her life as a spoiled and loved member of a family.

Marley is a huge stubborn sweetheart and a Velcro Bulldog who is a bit lazy!  She loves to snuggle, take in all the pets offered, soft beds, blankets, napping, playing fetch, and napping on attached to her humans (yes we said napping twice!).  Marley is the ultimate couch potato but don’t be fooled by her desire to relax as she does have a spunky side! She has a very sweet loving disposition and just wants to be loved and surrounded by her people at all times. When Marley isn’t taking one of her many naps throughout the day she is requesting a bulldog appropriate walk followed by a game of fetch with her beloved ball.  She isn’t one to share her ball so the game of fetch can be a little awkward at times.  After she tires out from all that activity, Marley is searching for her favorite place outdoors to sun her buns.  Marley is insecure and therefore is unable to tolerate being in the presence of other known and unknown dogs.  She will lunge and growl in an aggressive manner and MUST BE kept on a short leash on walks when other dogs are present as she clearly is agitated by other dogs.  Her behavior is immediately corrected and she will calm down for a bit but it doesn’t last too long. Marley is in need of firm, consistent leadership and positive reinforcement to correct her unwanted behavior.  She is experiencing a big change and will need a patient and understanding family that is willing to help her insecurities and her anxiety as she needs this in order to adjust into another new home and to learn what is expected of her in her adoptive home. Marley seems to get along well with every human she meets (big or small) and could cohabitate with a low-key submissive dog after proper slow introductions or do equally as well as an only pet.  She does GREAT around children.  Marley is calm and gentle and adores her year 12 old human!   We feel she would do amazing with children of any age who are calm, gentle and dog savvy.  As with all of our dogs, slow introductions to both other dogs and children are must to ensure everyone is kept safe.

Marley is 100% potty trained.  Her adoptive family will need to be willing and able to keep her on a regular and consistent schedule for her continued potty training success.  Marley does not prefer her crate as she has severe separation anxiety when she is away from her humans.  She is trusted in her foster home to roam safely in a dog safe area.  Since Marley has anxiety being away from her humans she is unable to relax when her foster family happens to leave the home. She will often pace and wait by the door awaiting the arrival of her human.  Given Marley loves soft comfy spots, she would love nothing more than to have her special area appointed with a soft bed and blanket as long as her human in near. For her safety, we recommend that she keep a similar schedule when her humans are away from the home and/or she is left unsupervised so she is safe and secure while no one is home.

Medically, Marley is in great health!  She has been spayed, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, is microchipped and has been given a clean bill of health for adoption by our veterinarian! Marley did have some eye issues that have been resolved but they should be continued to be watched.  In addition, Marley is in need of losing a few more pounds.  She has been working hard and already dropped over 5lbs.

Marley would do well in almost any type of home but a house with a fenced yard will be preferred for her (opposed to a multiple floor apartment style) because she will try and run after other animals (bunnies included).  She would prefer a quiet and relaxed family that has the time to spend with her offering all of her favorite activities.  Marley is looking for a family to snuggle with (really sit on the lap of her favorite human), watch TV (she cannot get onto furniture by herself so she will need a pair of loving arms to help boost her body up!) and be okay with 24/7 togetherness!   We think she'd love to go to work with her new family as Marley enjoys a car ride, prefers being around her people as long as the office environment allows for her to be the only dog.  Honesty, Marley would prefer a work from home/stay at home parent so she can spend all day following them around and lovingly gaze at them all day long!  Marley is an affectionate, loving bulldog looking for someone to spoil her with all the attention she deserves!  She will 100% return all the love she is offered.

If you feel like your family might be the perfect forever home for Marley, please submit an adoption application for her today!!

NOTE: Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3-4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.  We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog.  After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc.  :-)  Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.  We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete.   That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not. :-)

IF you happen to not be chosen, please don't feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter.  In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue. :-)

ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog's foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply!  While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.

If an adopter can not keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.
