NOTE: Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3-4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.  We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog.  After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc.  :-)  Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.  We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete.   That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not. :-)

IF you happen to not be chosen, please don't feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter.  In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue. :-)

ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog's foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply!  While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.

If an adopter can not keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.

Lucy Lou was surrendered to SNAFU Rescue via a private party for not getting along with a child and another dog in the home.  Her family wanted her to be placed in a loving only dog home to be spoiled and live out her life as happy as she can be!

Lucy Lou is an active, playful, social yet moody little Frenchie girl.  Be ready for some indoor playtime and lots of outside backyard time as Lucy loves to run around the fenced-in backyard.  She is curious about the outdoors and will absolutely explore every inch of the yard being sure she is on guard to keep all those pesky squirrels away!  Lucy Lou’s happy place is outside with her people doing whatever they are and being the neighborhood watchdog. After a good romp around in the grass, a game of tug-of-war with her favorite pull toy or bouncing and rolling around with her beloved stuffed toy, you can find Lucy Lou searching for her antler for relaxing chew session.  Don’t be fooled by all her activity... Lucy Lou does have quite a chill side and can be a Frenchie couch potato. Her favorite place is on the soft couch all cuddled up in the corner catching a much desired snooze. Lucy Lou is a social butterfly, seems to get along well with every human she meets but due to her sudden temperamental changes, we think she would do best in a home that has children 14 years or older.  Slow introductions and supervision around children is a must to be sure they and she are kept safe. Lucy Lou can be a little troublemaker when around other dogs. She is still learning dog manners and is usually a little cranky and awkward with other dogs when she first meets them. She tends to be a little "in your face" with other dogs, which can be considered rude dog behavior, especially to more dominant dogs. She is slowly learning manners, however she does resource guard both food and toys and that is why we think she would do best and be happiest if placed in a home as an only dog. Lucy Lou is in need of a family willing to offer her firm and consistent leadership, work with her on learning manners, the ways of pet life and will need a family who is willing to spend extra time with her, providing the space she requires, offer her patience and introduce her to slowly to new things to build her confidence.

Lucy Lou’s foster family happily reports she is fully potty trained.  A regular and consistent schedule will help with her continued potty training success in her new home.  Lucy Lou is crate aggressive and has not been crated in her foster home. She is trusted to have full reign of her foster home.  For her safety, we recommend that she is kept in a secure space in the home offering her more and more space as she becomes more acclimated to her surroundings and is trusted in her new home.  She does not know danger and is still learning what is expected of her inside the home.

Medically, Lucy Lou seems to be in great health!  She has been spayed, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, heartworm tested and has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian!

Lucy Lou would be happiest in a house with a fenced yard due to her affinity for the outdoors (opposed to a multiple floor apartment style dwelling with no yard).  She does do very well with stairs and they do not phase her one bit! We also think she'd love to go work with her new family if they wanted to take her with them to the office! She loves to meet new people!  If her people are not able to take her to work with them, no problem - she's completely happy sleeping the day away on the couch as long as her people can arrange a mid day potty break for her! Again, she is an energetic, active, ornery, very frolicsome Frenchie, who enjoys to play, run around the yard, explore and investigate what her people might be doing.  She loves to bounce around the yard outside so, again, be ready for an active, outgoing, playful Frenchie if you apply for her!

If you feel like your family might be the perfect forever home for Lucy Lou, please submit an adoption application for her today!!
