UPDATE: April, 2015 - Leroy has been adopted in MN!
Little Leroy wasn't in SNAFU Rescue very long! He had a pre-approved applicant waiting for him the second he was vetted and ready to go home! Leroy is living the life as a cherished pet and has never looked back after the commercial breeder auction that we got him from. As you can see by his photos, he is one happy little boy! He now has a boxer brother to keep him company and an amazing mom and dad who love him to pieces.
Congrats to Leroy and his new family!!
Leroy came into SNAFU Rescue after being purchased at a commercial breeder dog auction. We saw him and his brother Arnold there and we knew we had to try to get them, if we could! The stars aligned and they ended up with rescue instead of another commercial breeder, and they couldn't be happier!
Leroy has just been great little foster puppy, his foster family reports! He is a typical puppy, happy go lucky and full of lots of silly energy! He loves everyone he meets and loves to play with the other dogs in his foster home. He is great with gentle children, under supervision (he is still a little boy, so he is always supervised when he is around kids, to make sure he is kept safe).
Leroy is currently still working on potty training. A regular schedule, consistent schedule will help with his continued potty training in his new home. He is also learning crate training and still does cry a bit when he initially goes in before he settles down and goes to sleep. For his safety, we recommend that he keep a similar crating schedule when his humans are away from the home and/or he is left unsupervised so he is safe and secure while no one is home. He does not know danger and is still learning what is okay and not okay to chew on!
Medically, Leroy is in good health! Leroy has no known health issues. He has been neutered and is UTD on all of his vaccinations/wormings.
Leroy would do well in almost any type of home but since he does bark in his crate a little before settling down and going to sleep, a house will be preferred for him (opposed to an apartment style/shared wall dwelling). He is still learning to go up and down stairs. He can go up them very well, but is still learning to go down stairs, especially with steeper stair cases. We also think he'd love to go work with his new family if they wanted to take him with them to the office. If not, he's completely happy sleeping the day away in his kennel!
