NOTE: Please note that it will likely be at LEAST a 2-3 week *minimum* before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application. We typically give a week for a "grace period" for new applications to come in on any newly available dog in order to give everyone a fair chance to submit an application. After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc. :-) Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another. We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete. That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not. :-)
IF you happen to not be chosen, please don't feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter. In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue. :-)Type your paragraph here.
ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog's foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply! While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed. If an adopter can not keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.

Jojo came into SNAFU Rescue after her previous owner passed away.
Jojo is a very sweet girl whose favorite past times are zooming around the backyard, snuggling with her humans, and playing with her toys! Jojo was a little quiet at first coming into her foster home but she quickly blossomed and is now showing the world just what a spitfire an 8 year old can be! She is not afraid to let you know when she wants to be picked up or when it's time to eat. Jojo gets along with the other dog in her foster home and has been reported to get along with cats as well. She is not currently living in a home with children but gets along with them fine on visits. Jojo has yet to meet anyone she doesn't like! That doesn't stop her from barking at any newcomers, but that's more of her way to alert her human there's someone at the door.
Jojo has this potty training thing down! While staying at her foster home, she has not had a single accident! As with all dogs though, a regular and consistent schedule will help keep her accident free in her new home. Jojo has also done great with crate training and after a few minutes of protest, sleeps quietly in her kennel during the night or when her foster family happens to leave the home. For her safety, we recommend that she keep a similar crating schedule when her humans are away from the home and/or she is left unsupervised so she is safe and secure.
Medically, JoJo seems to be in wonderful health, other than being permanently blind in her left eye. Prior to coming to the rescue she had some sort of previous injury in her left eye. We are not sure if treatment was attempted on it or not, but regardless, this previous injury caused her to go blind in that eye. Her blind eye does not currently cause her any pain nor does it seem to slow her down in any way. Jojo is spayed and has been HW Tested, had a dental, has been updated on Vaccinations/deworming’s, and has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian!
Jojo would do well in almost any type of home but as she loves running & zooming around the yard, a house with a fenced yard will be preferred for her (opposed to a multiple floor apartment style dwelling with no yard). Although she is a senior girl, she does not let stairs slow her down! She is able to maneuver them with ease so she would be happy in a home with or without stairs. Jojo will need her new family to provide her a mid-day potty if they work away from the home. As long as she has her mid-day potty break and a comfy crate with a great stuffy to chew on she is content snoozing while waiting for her family to arrive home from work!
If you feel like your family might be the perfect forever home for Jojo, please submit an adoption application for her today!!!
JoJo's applications are currently under review.
