Jimmy was surrendered to SNAFU Rescue via breeder release.  His breeder wanted him to be placed in a loving pet home to be spoiled and live out his life as a cherished pet!

Jimmy is a very happy boy outside in the yard but life inside of a pet home was/has been pretty scary for him initially.  He was very unsure of everything initially and would cower in his kennel and pancake down when we went to pet him.  In just the first week of being in a home, he has already started to show progress.  While he does want and greatly enjoys human attention, he is still learning to trust and come out of his shell.  He will sometimes still run from his foster family when they go to pick him up and while Jimmy seems to get along well with every human he meets, he needs them to take it slow with him so that he can learn to trust. This will be something any prospective adoptive family will need to be able and willing to continue working with him on.  He will need time to gain more confidence and we are sure that with time that he will, as he has already made so much progress in such a short time.  Loud, fast moving children would likely be scary for him, so calm, gentle children in the home will be a requirement.  While he has only been in foster care for a short while, he seems to do well with the other Frenchies in his current foster home that are approx his current size. It has recently been discovered that he does not like large breed dogs (or at least the lab in his current foster home) and will attempt to fight with them if he has access to them.  Due to that, if a potential home has other dogs, only calm, submissive medium sized breeds will be considered for him.  He does take a lot of queues from the other resident Frenchies in his foster home, so, again, a home with other easy going, similarly sized dogs will be preferred for him.

Jimmy is currently still working on potty training.  While he has been doing well with going potty outside, a regular, consistent schedule will help with his continued potty training in his new home.  As with all of our dogs, any adopter will need to be able to and willing to continue working on potty training with him.  He has also done great with crate training and sleeps quietly in his kennel during the night or when his foster family happens to leave the home. For his safety, we recommend that he keep a similar crating schedule when his humans are away from the home and/or he is left unsupervised so he is safe and secure while no one is home.  He does not know danger and is still learning what is expected of him inside the home.

Medically, Jimmy seems to be in great health!  He has been neutered (by his breeder prior to arrival with our rescue), updated on vaccinations/wormings, and has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian.

Jimmy would do well in almost any type of home but since he is still working on potty training, and does not know how to potty on a leash, a house with a fenced yard will be preferred for him (opposed to a multiple floor apartment style dwelling with no yard). If a prospective home has kids, a home with quiet children will be preferred as he still gets scared easily.  He is *not* fear aggressive AT ALL, he just freezes and pancakes down or runs away when he gets scared or nervous.  We also think he'd love to go work with his new family if they wanted to take him with them to the office as long as it was a quiet, calm environment. He is a quiet boy, and loves to just hang out with the other dogs in the home, explore and investigate what his people might be doing.  He loves to bounce around the yard outside with the other dogs! If his people are not able to take him to work with them, no problem - he's completely happy sleeping the day away in his kennel as long as his people can arrange a mid day potty break for him!
