Jessie came into SNAFU Rescue after being purchased at a commercial breeder dog auction.
Jessie is an ornery, young girl, who acts like a puppy! Since she never really got a proper puppyhood, she is making up for it now! While she does a pretty good job with playing with her dog toys, she sometimes will snatch something she's not supposed to chew on (like the TV remote!), so she will just need to be supervised and redirected when she's out an about, if she happens to grab something she isn't supposed to have. She LOVES to romp and play with the other dogs in her foster home and run and play outside in the backyard. We think she would do best in a home with other outgoing and confident dogs as she takes a lot of queues from the other dogs in her foster home. She loves human attention too and is learning the life of a loved pet. She seems to get along well with everyone she meets! One of her favorite things to do is running, playing and wrestling with the other dogs in her current foster home. She also has discovered the greatness of toys and loves to cart them around with her, taking them inside and outside with her when she goes in an out (mostly sneaking them out!). While she does not live with children, we think she would be fine with older respectful, gentle children in her new home, should they happen to have kiddos.
Jessie is currently still working on potty training and has been doing great with a consistent schedule. As with most of our dogs, a regular, consistent schedule will help with her continued potty training in her new home. She has also done great with crate training, never has accidents in her crate and she sleeps quietly in her kennel during the night or when her foster family happens to leave the home. For her safety, we recommend that she keep a similar crating schedule when her humans are away from the home and/or she is left unsupervised so she is safe and secure while no one is home. She does not know danger and is still learning the life of a beloved, cherished pet.
Medically, Jessie is in great health! Jessie has no known health issues. She has been spayed, had a dental and is UTD on all of her vaccinations/wormings.
Jessie would do well in almost any type of home but since she is still working on potty training, and does not know how to potty on a leash, a home with a fenced yard will be preferred for her. She seems to have no issues going up and down stairs, and has been doing great with it so far! We also think she'd love to go work with her new family if they wanted to take her with them to the office, as long as she could be properly supervised while she's visiting. If not, she's completely happy sleeping the day away in her kennel with her chew toy!
