Jeffrey found his way into the SNAFU Rescue via a private party.  His family wanted him to find a calm, loving home that is able to properly take care of his medical needs.

Jeffrey is a playful, energetic, active yet chill, social, lovable, passive frenchie boy that has yet to meet a stranger he doesn’t immediately fall head over paws for.  This overly friendly boy thinks he found his new best friend in all people he meets!   Jeffrey greets EVERYONE with boundless enthusiasm demanding his favorite, head scratchies.  He has endless energy and can be found standing by the door requesting outside time so he can either sun his buns or chase those pesky birds out of the yard; always with his human in tow.  Jeffrey often requests LONG walks to show off his perfect leash skills all the while flirting his way through the neighborhood greeting everyone he meets.  When he isn’t burning off some energy outside, you can find him searching for his plush squeaky toys, grabbing a few of his favorites and running around the home playing like it’s his first time with toys. Jeffrey has such a boyish, charming nature that his foster family finds his love for toys just about the most adorable thing they have seen!  After a fun play session emptying his toy box (he quite literally empties it!) and thrashing about with all of his toys (usually in search for the one that squeaks the loudest), Jeffrey will start his search for his favorite human to request some attention.  After all the excitement with his beloved toys, you can occupy Jeffrey’s time with one of his favorite chews, bullystick or nylabone.   Snack time is his FAVORITE time and Jeffrey can be persuaded into anything with a high valued reward.  He will immediately and politely sit like a perfect gentleman and wait for his turn responding to the word “okay”.  Jeffrey is such a busy little boy!  In between all his activities, he desires the company of his humans.  Nothing makes him happier than his humans participating in all the things he loves and he will reciprocate that affection.  Jeffrey loves his time with his people.  He will take any pets and scratchies offered (purring like a kitten when his head is scratched), watch his humans every movement as they pass about the house and his favorite… snuggle time on the couch!  He will inch up right next to his people for a much needed little snooze.  Jeffrey is extremely obedient, intelligent, curious and wanting to know where his people are at all times.  He currently lives with 2 male French Bulldog foster siblings.  He is VERY social, playful and interested in joining their pack much to his disappointment as these bonded brothers won’t “officially” indoctrinate him.  He desperately tries to engage them in a game of tug-of-war and at times he will get an interested partner.  When it is time to settle in for some TV time he and his furry friends will all jump on the couch to cuddle with their humans.  All three of them will snuggle together and relax perfectly.  Jeffrey adjusted quickly into a new environment but will still need consistent leadership, positive reinforcement as he learns what is expected of him in his adoptive home..  Even though Jeffrey is overly gentle, polite and kind, his foster family believes he would be best in a home with dog-savvy, gentle, calm children 12 years or older ONLY because of his epilepsy.  We think he would thrive in a home with another furry PLAYFUL companion of his size or larger.  As with all of our dogs, we recommend slow introductions between dogs AND supervision around children when introducing a new dog in your home to make sure both he and they are kept safe.

Jeffrey is 100% fully potty trained.  He does his business quickly when he is asked but requests that his human is with him to supervise (that is not negotiable for Jeffrey!).  Jeffrey will sit by the door to indicate to his people that he needs to do his business. He is kept on a pretty strict schedule and responds to that very well.  As with all of our dogs, any adopter will need to be able and willing to be patient with him as he acclimates to a new environment, offering him a consistent schedule and perhaps work with him on a proper signal for potty.  Jeffrey is 100% crate trained but does not spend much time in his crate as his foster family is currently working from home.  He doesn’t seek out his crate but does not resist when it’s time for his family to leave the home or time for bed. Jeffrey picks up on cues and adapts well to his known schedule and will go into his crate willingly when his family heads to the gym in the morning and when it's time for bed.  Jeffrey does sleep like a perfect little angel in his crate when his foster family happens to leave the home and as well at night.  We do think he would love love love to share a bed with his adoptive family!  He is partial to the softer things in life and adores the plush nature of his crate bed and blanket but a human bed would be ideal for this amazing cuddle bug!  For his safety, we recommend a similar crating/sleeping schedule is kept for him.

Medically, Jeffrey seems to be in great health.  He has been neutered, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, microchipped and has been given an okay to adopt by our veterinarian.  Jeffrey was diagnosed with epilepsy in August 2020.  He experienced a few known seizures and has since been successfully weaned off all of his medications.  Although the cause of his seizures are unknown we believe the stress and noise of a newborn baby in his previous home may have led to the onset of his epilepsy.  His last known seizure was in September and with the help of a calmer environment we are happy to report Jeffrey has been completely seizure free since then.  His adoptive family must know that this isn’t a guarantee for the seizures not to return and he may at some point need medication and medical care if the seizures surface again.

Jeffrey would do best in a home with a fenced-in yard due to his explorative nature, his desire to be outside as often as possible and his propensity to chase pesky birds/squirrels out of his space (opposed to a multiple floor apartment style dwelling with no yard).  We strongly believe a home with shared walls would not be ideal for Jeffrey as he is searching for a calmer/quieter home and the stress of noisy hallways or shared spaces may be too much for him.  Jeffrey begs for exercise and a large yard to run and play fetch in would be the best fit for this fun-loving boy!  We think Jeffrey would be an IDEAL office companion.  He would absolutely love to go to work with his new family as he loves all people and can flirt his way into anyone’s heart! He just requests the office has a quieter environment, he has a chewie to keep him occupied and a soft bed to lay his precious head on.  You can’t take him to the office- that’s okay!  He would much prefer a stay at home or work from home parent as Jeffrey really wants to spend all his time with his people.  Jeffrey desires a family with an active lifestyle (he loves a car ride) of which he can be included and one with a furry companion to play with!  He is very eager to please, loyal as the day is long and looking for a calmer, quiet family that doesn’t have the chaos, activity and noise of having smaller children in the home.

If you feel like your family might be the perfect forever home for Jeffrey, please submit an adoption application for him today!!

NOTE: Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3-4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.  We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog.  After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc.  :-)  Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.  We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete.   That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not. :-)

IF you happen to not be chosen, please don't feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter.  In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue. :-)

ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog's foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply!  While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.

If an adopter can not keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.
