Jagger was rehomed as his owner could no longer care for him, which resulted in him finding his way to the SNAFU Rescue. His owner wanted him to be placed in a loving pet home to be spoiled and loved for the rest of his life.
Jagger is a fun loving, curious boy who enjoys all of his toys and lots of playtime. He is super energetic, silly and extremely playful. After his energy has subsided, Jagger will look for his human for some much needed cuddle time. You always can find Jagger curled up right next to you during his naptime. He enjoys to chew on his favorite bones and toys so having them around at all times is a must (so he doesn’t get his paws on something that isn’t his!) He surely can entertain himself for hours with his beloved toys and even loves taking his toys outside if given the opportunity. Jagger is always ready for any type of fun adventure as long his humans are right by his side. He soaks up the outdoors being sure to sniff out all the scents of the yard. Did someone say WALK? Jagger says, yes please! He will quickly be at your side begging for jaunt around the neighborhood and even better…. a car ride! Jagger does well with other dogs and older dog savvy, respectful children. Because of his energy he can have a hard time waiting for his turn to get attention from his humans. Jagger truly loves all the attention on him! No other dogs in the home? That is ok, as Jagger would do great as an only pet. Slow introductions to other dogs and children in the household is a must and he should always be supervised to make sure both he and they are kept safe.
Jagger is potty trained and has not had any accidents in his foster home. As with all of our dogs, any adopter will need to be patient and willing to continue working on his potty training success as he acclimates to his new home and surroundings. Jagger is 100% crate trained. He sleeps quietly in his crate when his foster family happens to leave the home requesting his a soft blanket and his favorite toy!
Medically, Jagger is in great health! He has been neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, and has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian!
Jagger would do great in any type of home but since he is still learning to go up and down the stairs and loves to explore, a house with a fenced yard and little stairs will be preferred for him (opposed to a multiple floor apartment style dwelling). He is feeling more and more comfortable with the stairs preferring no more than three or four steps at a time. Since Jagger does amazing on a leash a ground floor apartment would be fine for him if his new family could take him on several short walks a day. Ultimately, he is sweet and lovable and will do great in a home that has the time to take him on walks and give him the much needed attention and love he requires and deserves.
If you feel like your family might be the perfect forever home for Jagger, please submit an adoption application for him.
NOTE: Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3-4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application. We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog. After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc. :-) Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another. We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete. That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not. :-)
IF you happen to not be chosen, please don't feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter. In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue. :-)
ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog's foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply! While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.
If an adopter can not keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.
