Harley came into SNAFU Rescue after being purchased privately from a commercial breeder to prevent him being sold at auction.

Harley is a happy playful puppy who loves anyone and everyone.  Initially when he came to rescue he was very scared and insecure of his new surroundings, but he still wanted to be loved despite being unsure.  He has had some time to adjust and has been coming out of his shell more and more and has become a happy go lucky, silly, goofy, clumsy puppy.  Harley loves *everyone* he meets including cats/kitties, kids, and he especially loves to play with the other dogs in his foster home.  He is great with gentle children under supervision (he is still very much a puppy, so as with any dog should always supervised when he is around kiddos).

Harley is currently working on potty training and while he is not 100% yet, he has been making great progress!  A regular schedule, consistent schedule will help with his continued potty training in his new home.   Since he does well in his crate, we recommend that he keep a similar crating schedule when his humans are away from the home so he is safe and secure while no one is home.  He does not know danger and what is okay and not okay to chew on at this point!

Medically, Harley is in good health. When he first came into our rescue, he had a few growths removed that were on his chin, neck and shoulder.  Those have been removed and he has been given a clean bill of health by our vet!  He also had a former ulcer in his right eye before coming to us and had an infection in his right eye. His right eye is just slightly cloudy from scarring, but we are hoping that as it continues to heal, the scar will lighten/less with time.  His eye infection has been treated while in our care, but his foster mom does still put lubrication in it as needed, to make sure it stays moist and can continue to heal correctly.   He has been neutered, had the 3 growths removed, been treated for his previous eye infection and has been updated on vaccination/dewormings.

Harley would do well in almost any type of home. He is learning stairs but has been doing well with them to date in his foster home. He is *not* used to/accustomed to a flight(s) of stairs so he would need to be monitored going up and down a flight of stairs (more than 3 or 4 stairs), should his adoptive home have a flight of stairs that he will need to manage on a daily basis.   We also think he'd do fine if his new family wanted to take him with them to the office as he loves anyone and everyone.  If not, he's completely happy sleeping the day away in his kennel!

Harley is a puppy who has all of the ornery, silly, still learning training, goofy traits of a puppy (we wouldn't have it any other way!), so please be ready for the needs and care of a puppy if you think he will make a good addition to your family! If you feel like your family might be the perfect forever home for Harley please fill out an adoption application for him today!

Harley has been adopted.

We are no longer accepting new applications for him.

1st day in rescue

NOTE: Please note that it will likely be a 2-3 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application. We usually give a week for a "grace period" for new applications to come in on any newly available dog in order to give everyone a fair chance to submit an application.  After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc.  :-)  Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.  We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete.   That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not. :-)

IF you happen to not be chosen, please don't feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter.  In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue. :-)
