NOTE: Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3-4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.  We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog.  After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc.  :-)  Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.  We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete.   That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not. :-)

IF you happen to not be chosen, please don't feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter.  In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue. :-)

ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog's foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply!  While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.

If an adopter can not keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.

Gladys was surrendered to SNAFU Rescue as she was being rehomed to no fault of her own.   Her surrendering family wanted her to be placed in a loving structured home to be spoiled and live out her life as happily as she can be!

Gladys is an active, playful, social yet lazy little Frenchie girl.  Be ready for some indoor playtime and outside backyard time as she loves to jaunt around the fenced-in backyard.  She is curious about the outdoors and will absolutely explore every inch of the yard being sure she is on guard to keep all those pesky squirrels away!  Gladys is Gladys Kravitz!  You can almost ALWAYS find her perched up on one of the many areas that allow her to see outside.  She is most happy when she is gazing out the window keeping tabs on the neighborhood goings on.  Gladys knows when the Amazon Truck arrives when the neighboring children arrive home from school when her furry friends are on their daily walks and most importantly when her foster mama arrives home from an appointment.  There is nothing that goes on that she isn’t privy to!  Gladys is a built-in neighborhood watchdog that ensures the ongoing safety of those in her foster home.  When she isn’t snuggling in a bed in the window, Gladys is requesting walks to show off her mastered leash skills, playdates with her furry friends, snuggle time on the couch, or just following her favorite human around the home.   Gladys adores all people and desires to be with her people doing whatever they are doing at all times. She positively feeds off their energy and will relax when they relax and will play when they want to play.   Gladys can be quite active but don’t be fooled by all her activity… she does have quite a chill side and can be a Frenchie couch potato.  She is a social butterfly, the life of the party, and seems to get along well with every human she meets (big or small) but due to her inability to properly greet unknown guests, we think she would do best in a home that had children 12 years or older.  Slow introductions and supervision around children are a must to be sure they and she are kept safe.  Gladys looks forward to playdates with her friends and will always be the first to get the party started.  She will hop around them to initiate play and enjoys those dogs that have a more playful nature,  Gladys is still working on proper dog manners and will inappropriately greet NEW guests by jumping up and attempting to bite at their bottom.  Gladys is immediately corrected and is leashed with a harness when unknown guests are arriving.  She WILL NOT display this behavior to guests she has met prior.  She is slowly learning manners and having a squirt bottle handy to correct her unwanted behaviors has worked (she is not a fan of water being sprayed at her).  Gladys does resource guard her food against the resident male English Bulldog but NOT the resident female English Bulldog; she should be fed separately to be safe.  She will happily share her toys with any furry friend.  Gladys requires a family willing to work with her on learning manners, offers her firm and consistent leadership, and will need a family who is willing to spend extra time with her and offer her patience as she acclimates to yet another home.  Gladys has a playful and fun disposition when around other dogs of any size and will need a home with a playful furry companion to keep her occupied.

Gladys’ foster family happily reports she is fully potty trained. There is ONE spot in her foster home Gladys continues to potty on regardless of whether she has just been outside or not.  We don’t believe this will be an issue in her adoptive home.   A regular and consistent schedule will help with her continued potty training success in her new home.  Gladys does not use a crate in her foster home and is trusted in a dog-safe area (with a window perch available).  For her safety, we recommend that she is kept in a similar dog safe/proof area when her family is away at work or leaves the home. She does not know danger and is still learning what is expected of her inside the home. Gladys loves her humans so much that we believe she would like to show off her snuggling abilities and share her human’s bed in her adoptive home.

Medically, Gladys seems to be in great health!  She has been spayed, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, heartworm tested, microchipped, nares widened, and has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian!

Gladys would be happiest in a house with a yard (as opposed to a multiple-floor apartment-style dwelling with no yard).  She is on constant backyard patrol (humans, squirrels, birds, leaves) to keep those approved inside and those pesky intruders outside.  She DOES do very well with stairs and they do not phase her one bit!  We also think she'd love to eventually go work with her new family if they wanted to take her with them to the office.  Her butt-biting BAD habit to strangers must stop before entering a workplace.  If her people are not able to take her to work with them, no problem - she's completely happy sleeping the day away in her comfy bed that is perched up by a window as long as her people can arrange a mid-day potty break for her!  Again, she is a fun, energetic, adorably wild, very playful yet chill Frenchie that wants to be part of her human's everyday activities.  She loves to play, run around the yard, explore and investigate what her people might be doing at all times.  Gladys is an expert cuddle bug seeking attention and adoration from her loved humans and would love to veer out the window by day and cuddle on the couch by night with her adoptive family.  She requires a home that does not have a revolving door of people in and out, one that has a furry playmate to keep her busy, and one that is okay with allowing her to protect the home keeping everyone safe!  Multiple windows to gaze out of are a MUST!

If you feel like your family might be the perfect forever home for Gladys, please submit an adoption application for her today!!
