Update December 2014!
Our beautiful Frankie, has been adopted in Wisconsin!!
She has three fur siblings to keep her company in her new home. Frankie LOVES to be around other dogs, so it is perfect for her to have siblings! They are all adjusting well to each other and she has been adjusting wonderfully!! Her new parents have a fenced yard, which was required for Frankie, and lots of bulldog experience! Frankie has come a long way from the commercial dog auction that we found her at. She has decided that she loves being a pet, and hasn't looked back! We are so happy for our girl and even happier that she found her perfect match in her new home!!
Congratulations to all!!
Frankie came to SNAFU Rescue after she was purchased at a commercial breeder dog auction. She does have some saggy teets from her life as a commercial breeding dog but we are confident that with time, those will shrink up some. They have already started shrinking in the time we have had her in the rescue!
Medically, Frankie seems to be in great shape! She has no current known health issues. She has been spayed, is heartworm negative and is UTD on all of her vaccinations/wormings. Since she has saggy teets, her belly must be cleaned, as needed, on a weekly basis.
Frankie is a very sweet girl and has a very easy going personality! She is pretty low maintenance overall and really likes to be around other dogs! She LOVES to play with the other dogs and wrestle. Though she is bigger than her French Bulldog foster siblings, she is very gentle. She is still learning to trust humans, but seems to like attention and is a very gentle girl. She will hunker down if someone in the home raises their voice, so we feel like an easy going, calmer household would be more ideal for her. She is learning to come and learning how great lots of snuggles and what pets are! In fact, she loves human attention and loves to give kisses! She seems to show a bit of curiousness toward the cats in her foster home, so a home with dog saavy kitties would be okay for her, as long as the kitties had a safe place to escape to, should she be a little too interested. So far she has been gentle toward them, though they have kept their distance. As we previously mentioned, she seems to love all of the other dogs that she's met and gets along with her foster fur-siblings very well. Her favorite past times are hanging out with her people, sleeping on the couch, rolling in the grass outside, and playing with the other dogs.
Frankie is semi leashed trained, however, at this point in time, she does not understand pottying on a leash, so a home with a fenced yard is required. She has also learned stairs and has absolutely no issue with them!
She has been working on potty training since arriving at her foster home and has learned very quickly. As long as she is kept on a regular and consistent potty schedule, and has a fenced yard, she seems to do great! She does not potty as well on a leash, so a fenced yard will be required for her. She is also crate trained and will sleep in her kennel quietly while her foster family is away from home. She prefers to be kenneled near the other dogs in her home. At night, she sleeps in her kennel as that is where she seems to be most comfortable.
