Fleur was surrendered to SNAFU Rescue via breeder release. Her breeder wanted her to be placed in a loving pet home and to live the rest of her life as a loved and cherished pet.

Fleur, like her namesake, is a delicate, delightful and perfect little flower.  She is just a dancing doll who offers many kisses, requests unlimited pets and scratchies and loves soft beds, blankets, napping.  Fleur has quite the outgoing personality as she makes the rounds around her foster home every morning taking roll call! She makes sure everyone is accounted for, checks out herself in the mirror then finally makes her way to her breakfast bowl.  Fleur is a velcro frenchie girl that loves nothing more than to be cuddled up next to her foster family on any comfy surface they are on. After a good long snooze you can find this curious girl collecting all the Fleur approved items in her foster home and stacking them up in piles. She has a very specific method to her madness as she doesn’t play with the collected items as she would rather revel in the success of the hunt!  Fleur is just a full-on hoarder!  She truly is the ultimate couch potato but don’t be fooled by her age as she is most certainly young at heart! Fleur has a very kind loving disposition and just wants to be loved and surrounded but those that love her. She currently lives with a furry foster sibling and they do not pay much attention to her and she is absolutely okay with that. Fleur acknowledges the existence of all dogs she has encountered regardless of size due to her exaggerated curiosity.  The world is her oyster and she insists on soaking up every new moment she can. She is experiencing a big change into pet life and will need a patient and understanding family that is willing to offer her the space she needs to properly develop into pet life and to learn what is expected of her in the home. Fleur is quick to react to positive reinforcement, is very food and treat motivated, so with a little added incentive she has been quick to adjust! She seems to get along well with every adult human she has met.  She has yet to be around children but gets startled easily due to some hearing loss so we feel Fleur would do best in a home with teenagers who are calm, gentle and dog savvy. As with all of our dogs, slow introductions to both other dogs and children are must to ensure everyone is kept safe.

Fleur is doing amazingly well with potty training.  She has been nearly accident-free in her foster home because she is kept on a consistent outside schedule. She has already picked up on going to the door with she needs to be let out. Fleur’s adoptive family will need to be willing and able to keep her on a regular and consistent schedule for her continued potty training success.  She is quick to finish her business so she can find her way back inside to a search for a soft comfy spot or corner to snuggle. She has also done great (actually amazing) with crate training and sleeps quietly in her crate when his foster family happens to leave the home and at night. Given Fleur loves soft comfy things, she would love nothing more than to have her crate appointed with a soft crate pad and plush blanket. We do know that Fleur would prefer to sleep in her adopted families bed at night as she loves nothing more than to be around her people at all times and has an affinity for the softer things in life!  For her safety, we recommend that she keep a similar crating schedule when her humans are away from the home and/or he is left unsupervised so she is safe and secure while no one is home. She does not know danger and is still learning what is expected of her inside the home.

Medically, Fleur seems to be in good health.  Her ears have been treated for an ongoing infection which caused some loss of hearing. Fleur’s ears will need to be watched closely and cleaned properly to avoid any further issues.  She has been spayed, heartworm tested, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, is microchipped and has been given the okay for adoption by our veterinarian!

Fleur would do well in almost any type of home but a house with a fenced yard with little to no stairs will be preferred for her (opposed to a multiple floor apartment style dwelling with many stairs) as this little snoopy girl demands direct access to the backyard to explore with ease, in addition, as she continues to age stairs may become an issue in the future.  Fleur would prefer a family with older children to nuzzle up to. We think she'd love to go to work with her new family as Fleur loves to be around her people at all times! You are not able to take her to work- not a problem! She does enjoy the comfort of her space and bed at home as long as she isn’t left for more than 4-5 hours. She is completely happy sleeping the part of the day away in her kennel as long as her people can arrive home and take her out for her mid-day potty break.  Fleur has a super sweet temperament that adores and trusts all people!  She is searching for a patient family to teach her all the spoiled ways of pet life!

If you feel like your family might be the perfect forever home for Fleur, please submit an adoption application for her today!!

NOTE: Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3-4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.  We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog.  After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc.  :-)  Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.  We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete.   That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not. :-)

IF you happen to not be chosen, please don't feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter.  In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue. :-)

ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog's foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply!  While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.

If an adopter can not keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.
