NOTE: Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3-4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.  We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog.  After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc.  :-)  Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.  We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete.   That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not. :-)

IF you happen to not be chosen, please don't feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter.  In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue. :-)

ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog's foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply!  While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.

If an adopter can not keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.

Ester was surrendered to the SNAFU Rescue via a private party. Her owner wanted her to be placed in a loving pet home and to live the rest of her life as a loved and cherished pet.

Ester is a sweet, loving, medium activity, little girl who absolutely loves to mimic the energy level of those around her.  She has a social personality around those she trusts and enjoys hanging out on the sofa with her trusted people.  Ester seeks attention and prefers to be everywhere and anywhere her foster family is.  She doesn’t like to be left behind and if her people happen to get up and walk away she will be quick to follow suit.  When her foster family arrives home from work she is the first to greet them, wiggling her little butt and begging for some pets and scratchies.  She adores all people (big and small) and takes her time to warm up to most new dogs she meets.  Nap time is her favorite time! There is not a couch, dog bed or human(her preference) that she won’t lay on/near during her many daily naps or even when tuning into her favorite TV show.  When Ester is done tuning into her favorite shows, she will search for her favorite antler and settle in for a chew session on the floor.  Ester does have quite the curious side and enjoys spending time exploring the backyard taking in all the autumn smells.  After burning off some energy outdoors, Ester is requesting to find her favorite spot on the couch to take in some pets, finding a ray of sunshine on the floor to sun her little Pug buns or grabbing some belly rubs from her humans.  She currently lives with a big furry foster sibling. Ester does well with both big/small dogs, however she does get nervous around larger dogs and does much better around dogs her size.  She is still learning what is expected of her in the home and working on proper dog manners.  Ester finds GREAT comfort in being with her human and because of this we feel she would thrive and be very happy in a home as an only pet or one with a balanced, gentle, passive dog of her size.  As with all of our dogs, slow introductions to other dogs in the household is necessary to keep both her and them safe.  She has been around children and she is extremely patient, kind and gentle with them.  Ester really loves all people that can pay her attention and because of this we feel she would do just best around dog savvy, respectful children of any age.  She should always be supervised when she is around children to make sure both she and they are kept safe.

Ester’s foster family happily reports she is fully potty trained!  She made fast progress and picked it up quickly as she is taken outside often throughout the day.  Her adoptive family will need to be patient, willing and able to keep her on a regular and consistent schedule for her continued potty training success.  Ester will patiently wait by the door when she needs to go outside.  Ester is fully crate trained. Although the crate isn’t preferred she will settle in quickly after she shares her displeasure for a few minutes.  We know she would love it if she could share a human bed with her adoptive family.  For her safety, we recommend a similar crating arrangement is suggested when her humans are away from the home and/or when she is left unsupervised so she is safe and secure while no one is at home.

Medically, Ester seems to be in great health. She has been spayed, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, heartworm tested, microchipped and has been given the okay to adopt by our veterinarian. She does have some pesky seasonal allergies and would benefit from a daily allergy pill during high allergy months.

Ester would do best in a house with a fenced yard since she is “Ester the explorer” and has a tendency to bark at strange noises if something upsets her.  She is a sun goddess and would love a deck to be able to grab some afternoon sun.  A home with stairs is okay as Ester is a champ with stairs.  We also feel that she would not be a good pet for a multiple floor apartment style home since she can get pretty vocal when there are noises inside or outside the home.  Work from home or a stay at home parent? Ester would love love that!!! Otherwise, we think she'd love to go work with her new family if they wanted to take her with them to the office as she prefers not to be away from her people and has proven that she is a pawfect office mate!  Ester is looking for a family to call her very own, and would be happiest with one that is home often to dote on her and one that will offer her daily walks to help her lose a few pounds.  Ultimately this sweet little girl will be a shadow dog, a loyal friend and will share her love for unlimited naps and TV time.  Ester is a funny girl who gives a lot of facial expressions!

If you feel like your family might be the perfect forever home for Ester, please submit an adoption application for her today!!
