NOTE: Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3-4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.  We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog.  After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc.  :-)  Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.  We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete.   That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not. :-)

IF you happen to not be chosen, please don't feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter.  In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue. :-)

ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog's foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply!  While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.

If an adopter can not keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.

Dash came into SNAFU Rescue via a private party release.  To no fault of his own, his owner wanted him placed in a loving home to be spoiled and live out his life as a cherished pet!

Dash is an active, smart, playful, loving and energetic Frenchie boy.  He is overly enthusiastic when meeting new people and thinks everyone is his best buddy!  You can often find Dash searching his foster home for all of his favorite toys in hopes someone will engage him in play.  He fancies all bouncy balls and things that look like balls (his foster mom's yoga ball LOL).  Dash can be entertained for hours with a good game of fetch.  You will often find him begging for a game and will bring you the ball and stare at you with his sweet eyes until you cave!!! Dash will often guard his ball/bone and isn’t one for sharing them with other dogs.  He is corrected when this unwanted behavior is present. After an abundance of playtime, you can find Dash settling in to relax.  He will grab his favorite bone (currently a sheep’s horn) and gnaw away.  Once the chew time is finished, you can find Dash requesting some nap time.  He loves to be petted and prefers to be near his favorite people especially when they are tuning into their favorite TV shows.  When Dash isn’t following his little humans around the house, you can find him looking for some outside time. Dash loves to run around the yard with his furry foster brother to burn off some energy!  On cooler days, Dash enjoys a walk around the neighborhood to scope out where some potential furry friends are living!  Dash is still learning and will need leadership, positive corrections to help him learn proper dog behavior, learn proper dog manners and to know what is expected in his adoptive home.  He is extremely smart so we know Dash will be eager to learn and receptive to positive reinforcement .  Dash absolutely gets along well with every human he meets (big or small)!  He constantly interacts with children and does great with all of them.  We believe he would do best in a home with dog-savvy, gentle, children 5 years or older and a home with a submissive dog or equally as well as an only pet.  As with all of our dogs, we recommend slow introductions between dogs AND supervision around children when introducing a new dog in your home to make sure both he and they are kept safe.

Dash is 100% potty trained.  As with all of our dogs, any adopter will need to be able offer him a consistent schedule to continue his success!  Dash is crate trained but does not prefer the crate especially when his humans are home as being away from his humans while he can hear them causes some anxiety.  He is only crated when his humans are away from the home for children activities or errands.  Dash does sleep in bed at night with the children (it’s a constant plea who gets to sleep with Dash tonight) and would VERY much like to continue to share a human bed and snuggle in with his adoptive family.  For his safety, we recommend a similar crating/sleeping schedule is kept for Dash.

Medically, Dash seems to be in great health!  He has been neutered, microchipped, updated on vaccinations/dewormings and has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian! He does suffer from some seasonal allergies and would greatly benefit from a daily allergy pill (Zyrtec or Benadryl) in addition to a cytopoint shot during high allergy seasons.  He would also greatly benefit from an elevated bowl to eat and drink from due to some regurgitation.

Dash would do best in a home with a fenced-in yard due to his explorative nature, his need to dash and run (pun intended!) for things/people that interest him and his love for the outdoors (opposed to a multiple floor apartment style dwelling with no yard).  Dash would NOT be suited for an apartment dog as he likes to bark at unfamiliar things/noises/people (not at all in an aggressive way).  He enjoys daily exercise via games of fetch and a large yard to run and play would be the best fit for this fun-loving boy!  We know Dash would thrive in a home with lots of people to love on him and one with children to play with.  We also think Dash would love to go to the office with his new family as he enjoys the company of his humans but ideally Dash would love a work from home/stay at home parent.  Dash is looking for an active family that has time for walks, offers him an abundance of attention, outside time and unlimited games of fetch!

If you feel like your family might be the perfect forever home for Dash, please submit an adoption application for him today!!
