Dahlia was surrendered to SNAFU Rescue via breeder release.  Her breeder wanted her to be placed in a loving pet home to be spoiled and live out her life as a cherished pet!

Dahlia is a very happy, energetic, outgoing Frenchie.  Be ready for playtime, walks and outside backyard time with this girl because she is not your typical couch potato French Bulldog! She is a very active girl and loves to explore, play, and chew on her nylabones! Dahlia seems to get along well with every human she meets, and has done okay with the other dogs she meets as long as they are submissive and easy going.  She does great with the 15lb cat in her foster home, though she does like to chase him a little (for fun, not aggressively) from time to time!

Dahlia is currently still working on potty training.  While she has been doing wonderfully with going potty outside, a regular and consistent schedule will help with her continued potty training in her new home.  As with all of our dogs, any adopter will need to be able to and willing to continue working on potty training with her.  She has also done great with crate training and sleeps quietly in her kennel during the night or when her foster family happens to leave the home.  For her safety, we recommend that she keep a similar crating schedule when her humans are away from the home and/or she is left unsupervised so she is safe and secure while no one is home.  She is very ornery, curious and loves to explore. She WILL get into things if she is left unsupervised.  She does not know danger and is still learning what is expected of her inside the home.

Medically, Dahlia seems to be in great health!  She has been spayed, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, had a dental and has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian!

Dahlia would do well in almost any type of home but since she is still working on potty training, and does not know how to potty on a leash, a house with a fenced yard will be preferred for her (opposed to a multiple floor apartment style dwelling with no yard).  She does well with stairs.  We also think she'd love to go work with her new family if they wanted to take her with them to the office! She loves to meet new people but do keep in mind her silly, ornery personality as she will absolutely need to be supervised when she is out and about!  If her people are not able to take her to work with them, no problem - she's completely happy sleeping the day away in her kennel as long as she has a few nylabones to keep her busy and her people can arrange a mid day potty break for her!  Again, she is an energetic, active, very playful frenchie, and loves to play, run around the yard, explore and investigate what her people might be doing.  She loves to bounce around the yard outside so, again, be ready for an active, outgoing, playful Frenchie if you apply for her!

If you feel like your family might be the perfect forever home for Dahlia, please submit an adoption application for her today!!

NOTE: Please note that it will likely be a 2-3 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.  We typically give a week for a "grace period" for new applications to come in on any newly available dog in order to give everyone a fair chance to submit an application.  After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc.  :-)  Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.  We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete.   That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not. :-)

IF you happen to not be chosen, please don't feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter.  In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue. :-)

ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog's foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply!  While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.  If, for any reason, and adopter can not keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.

Dahlia's applications are currently under review.
We are no longer accepting new applications for her at this time.
