NOTE: Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3-4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.  We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog.  After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc.  :-)  Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.  We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete.   That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not. :-)

IF you happen to not be chosen, please don't feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter.  In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue. :-)

ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog's foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply!  While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.

If an adopter can not keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.

Buddha found his way into SNAFU via a private party. His family wanted him to be placed in a loving pet home to be spoiled, loved and live out his life as a cherished pet!

Buddha is an active, playful, attention seeking, social, funny, outgoing and friendly Pug.  He has 2 speeds… 100mph and napping!  He is definitely a pugnacious paw-ty animal!  Buddha is the life of every party and loves to play, play, play all day!  He has a lot of personality, must be the center of attention and has major FOMO if he is not surrounded by his humans.  He enjoys romping around the house and exploring every inch of his surroundings.  Buddha has an affinity for the outdoors and often requests time outside to take in all the smells.  Most of his outdoor time is spent on his daily walks (this boy requires exercise!) showing off his improving leash skills.  After Buddha jaunts around the neighborhood with his human in tow, he will settle indoors with his favorite bone or plush toy.  He will nibble away until his eyes gently close and he is dreaming away!  Buddha will always look for his people or one of his furry friends to partake in a cuddle session during his snooze.  He truly just wants to be with his people all the time as he finds comfort in their presence and the attention he is offered.  After a much needed nap, he is off circling the house following his foster siblings around, requesting a game of tug-of-war and invading their personal space. His favorite toys however are his furry foster friends!  Buddha’s motto is run, play, snuggle… wash, rinse, repeat!  Buddha’s overall fun, rambunctious, happy disposition allows him to get along with his furry foster siblings that are similar in size. Even though he doesn’t understand personal space and can be quite the attention hog, he is still able to manage to stay on the good side of his furry friends!   Buddha has a very lovable and fun temperament which is mostly favorable when he is around other dogs.  He has yet to meet any human, big or small, that he hasn’t fallen head over paws for.  Because of his lighthearted disposition, we feel Buddha will do perfectly well with other balanced dogs and with dog savvy, gentle, respectful children of any age.  We also feel Buddha would thrive in a multi-dog household to help learn what is expected in the home, learn proper dog manners and would enjoy a playmate.  As long as Buddha is offered the exercise he desires, we do think he would be equally as happy as an only dog.  Slow introductions to other dogs and children in the household is a must and he should always be supervised to make sure both he and they are kept safe.

Buddha is reported to be fully potty trained!  As with all of our dogs, any adopter must be patient and willing to continue working on his potty training success as he acclimates to his new home and surroundings. Buddha is 100% crate trained and does not have any accidents in his crate.  He sleeps quietly when his foster family happens to be away from the rest resting his little head on a comfy blanket.  A similar crating arrangement should be kept for him as he does not know danger.  Buddha does sleep in his crate in the evening but would much rather share a bed and offer snuggles to his new family!

Medically,  Buddha is in great health!  He has been neutered, microchipped, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, and has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian!  He will likely need to remain on an RX food for the remainder of his life to manage (Royal Canin Urinary SO Moderate Calorie).  He is on a daily joint supplement and does require his puggy folds and ears to be wiped daily.

Buddha would do great in any type of home since he is a champ at going up and down the stairs.  Since he does love to explore the yard and enjoys exercise, a house with a completely closed fenced yard will be preferred for him (as opposed to a multiple floor apartment style dwelling).  Buddha is a vocal dog (he must have been a guard dog on squirrel duty in his prior life) so a home with shared walls would not be ideal for him.  Since Buddha is quite a people's Pug, we think he would love to go to work with his new family if they wanted to take him with them to the office.  He would happily flirt his way around the office and nap the day away!  If his people are not able to take him to work with them, no problem at all - he would much rather have a part-time or full-time stay at home or work from home parent as he prefers to be around his people all the time.  Buddha is a little love bug looking for a home that has an active family to dote on him, can be included in most family activities, has the time to dedicate to him, can offer him the exercise he desires (and needs)  and lots of love and attention. Buddha is full of personality and would make a great addition to any family!

If you feel like your family might be the perfect forever home for Buddha, please submit an adoption application for him.
