NOTE: Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3-4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.  We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog.  After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc.  :-)  Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.  We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete.   That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not. :-)

IF you happen to not be chosen, please don't feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter.  In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue. :-)

ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog's foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply!  While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.

If an adopter can not keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.

Brecken

French & English Bulldog

Sex: Female
Weight: 38lbs
Kids: Yes, 8yrs or older
Cats: Unknown
Dogs: YES
Adoption fee: $600

Brecken found her way into SNAFU via a shelter (from a private party). The shelter could no longer provide her with the needed medical attention.  They wanted her placed with a rescue that could provide her immediate medical help to get to the bottom of her allergy issues and eventually find her in a loving pet home to be spoiled, loved, and live out her life as a cherished pet!

Brecken is a VERY active, playful, energetic, and smart Bulldog Mix (she is 50% both French and English Bulldog) that enjoys romping around and exploring every inch of her foster home.  She is adorably happy-go-lucky with the sweetest personality to match.  She has a passion for the outdoors and often requests time outside to take in all the smells.  Most of her outdoor time is spent lying on the deck sunning her buns (in the warmer months) or just running around exploring every inch of her fenced yard.  Brecken is play, play, and more play!  She will happily engage one of her foster siblings in some gentle wrestling or a fun game of keep away with her beloved nerf ring.  She fancies time with her toys and can often be found nibbling on her favorite nylabone.   After a perfectly suited romp around the yard, Brecken will search for a warm comfy place to snuggle up in and take in a much-needed nap.  Naps are her favorite!  If there is a spot next to her humans she will cash in on the opportunity to rest her precious head on their lap and quietly snore away!  If it is TV time in her foster homes, you can ALWAYS find Brecken snuggling up on the couch and tuning in to her favorite Netflix series or sitting on the edge of her chair watching football! What a fun girl!  Brecken is a fast learner and she is currently working on a few bits of training but is recommended she participate in some obedience training as this will help her learn what is expected in her home and what is considered proper dog manners.  She is looking for a home with a strong, firm leader to help guide her into dog behaviors.  Brecken has yet to meet any human, big or small, that she hasn’t liked!  Because of her lighthearted and curious disposition, we feel she will do perfectly well with dog-savvy, respectful children 8 years or older.  Brecken’s overall fun disposition allows her to get along with any dog she meets.  She has a very kind, energetic temperament which is favorable when she is around other dogs.  Brecken would do best in a home with at least one other active dog of any size (she does extremely well with dogs around 30 lbs).  Slow introductions to other dogs and children in the household are a must and she should always be supervised to make sure both he and they are kept safe.

Brecken’s foster family happily reports she is 80% potty trained.  Her accidents are becoming fewer and farther between as long as she is kept on a strict schedule; she needs a signal for potty.  As with all of our dogs, any adopter will need to be patient and willing to continue working on her potty training success as she acclimates to her new home and surroundings. Brecken is 100% crate trained (she responds well to “kennel up”).  Brecken does sleep in her crate in the evening but would much rather share a bed and offer many cuddles with her new family!

Medically, Brecken seems to be in overall good health.  She has been spayed, microchipped, heartworm tested, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, and has been given the okay to adopt by our veterinarian! Brecken suffers from EXTREME allergies.  They can be managed with ongoing daily care.  Her allergies are being managed by a proper STRICT diet of an RX food (an allergy panel will be supplied to her adoptive family), daily allergy pills, scheduled cytopoint shots, cleansing wipes, and medicated baths.  The routine must be followed and Brecken makes this very easy!  She is so good with all this extra care and attention; she is such a joy!  Brecken also receives immunotherapy drops; much like humans after 3-4, she should be retested and should not have the same allergies.

Brecken would do great in any type of home since she is an expert at going up and down the stairs.  Since she does love to explore, tends to run, and is still perfecting her leash skills a house with a fenced yard will be preferred for her (as opposed to a multiple floor apartment style dwelling).  Brecken is probably not a good candidate for an office environment given she is high energy and could bore easily.  She would much rather sleep the day away in the comforts of her home as long as she has a warm soft blanket, a furry buddy, and her people can arrange for a mid-day potty break for her!  Brecken is a very sweet, loving, and cuddly pup who is looking for a home that can help her manage her allergies and have the time and discipline to get her care scheduled.  She loves being near her people and thoroughly enjoys playing with other dogs, belly rubs, hugs, snuggles, car rides, frolicking in the yard, nibbling on a bone, and napping.  She is full of spark, love, and adorable energy.

If you feel like your family might be the perfect forever home for Brecken, please submit an adoption application for her.
