Belle came into SNAFU Rescue after being purchased from a rehoming ad on craigslist in order to ensure she found the best home possible as her forever home!

Belle is a happy, playful puppy who seems to love anyone and everyone she meets!   She is a typical happy go lucky, silly, puppy. Some of her favorite past-times are chewing on bones, playing with her toys and snuggling with her people!  She loves to be a lap dog, despite her 37lbs size, but is happy to sleep in her dog bed next to the couch if her people prefer.  Belle is a little curious about the cats in her foster home, but doesn't mind them and they co-exist well together. She also seems to do very well with kids, and she especially loves to play with the other doggie in her foster home!  They love to run, westle and play for 20-30 mins and then in true Bulldog Fashion, it is nap time!  Belle is pretty much all puppy and when she is taking a break from her naps, she is always looking for something to do or something new to explore!  Her foster family reports that while she can be ornery (as puppies typically are!), she does listen well to stern orders and always comes when called.  She loves to follow her people around, in or outside the house.  She just loves to be where her people are!

Belle is currently working on potty training and while she is not 100% yet, she has been making great progress as long as she stays on a firm, consistent potty break schedule!  A regular consistent schedule will be required for her to help with her continued potty training in her new home.  As with all of our dogs, any adopter will need to be able to and willing to continue working on potty training.  She has also done great with crate training and sleeps quietly in her kennel during the night or when her foster family happens to leave the home.  Since she does very well in her crate, we recommend that she keep a similar crating schedule when her humans are away from the home and/or she is left unsupervised so that she is safe and secure while no one is home. She does not know danger and what is okay and not okay to chew on!

Medically, Belle is in good health!  She has been spayed, HW Tested, has been updated on all of her vaccinations/dewormings/heartworm prevention and has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian!

Belle would do well in almost any type of home. She is used to going out with a fenced yard for potty breaks and does not know how to potty on a leash so a house with a fenced yard will be preferred for her (opposed to a multiple floor apartment style dwelling), though this is not a requirement for adoption. She goes up and down stairs like a champ and has no issues with them.  We also think she'd do fine if her new family wanted to take her with them to the office as long as it was a dog/puppy friendly environment.  If not, she's completely happy sleeping the day away in her kennel with a nylabone or two to keep her busy as long as her family can arrange for a mid-day potty break for her!!

Belle is a very active, energetic puppy, so please be ready for the needs and care requirements of a puppy.

If you feel like your family might be the perfect forever home for Belle please fill out an adoption application for her today!

NOTE: Please note that it will likely be at least a 2-3 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.  We typically give a week for a "grace period" for new applications to come in on any newly available dog in order to give everyone a fair chance to submit an application.  After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc.  :-)  Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.  We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete.   That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not. :-)

IF you happen to not be chosen, please don't feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter.  In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue. :-)

ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog's foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply!  While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.  If, for any reason at all, an adopter can not keep one of our grads at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.
