NOTE: Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3-4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.  We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog.  After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc.  :-)  Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.  We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete.   That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not. :-)

IF you happen to not be chosen, please don't feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter.  In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue. :-)

ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog's foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply!  While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.

If an adopter can not keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.

Applications Are Under Review.  We are no longer accepting applications for Arya.

Arya came into SNAFU Rescue after being purchased at a commercial breeder dog auction. Thanks to the help of generous donors we were able to secure 12 dogs, now nicknamed the #DarlingDozen.

Arya is a sweet, calm, loving and caring little Frenchie girl. She loves nothing more than to cuddle, play, run zoomies around the house, eat snacks, & repeat!. Arya has quickly learned to play with stuffed toys (the fluffier, the better!) & enjoys running around her foster’s backyard! This silly clown will also make a game being first in line at treat time! She’s quite clever in the sense that she will get in the front of the line, get her treat, and quickly run to be back of the line to “double dip” for seconds! When it comes to her meals, Arya has not met a dish she has not enjoyed! Her foster family feeds all of the frenchies she currently lives with in the kitchen, so this clever one has quickly associated people in the kitchen with mealtime! She’s the first in line & the first to finish her bowl! Arya is very calm for a French bulldog while we believe she knows how to bark, we still have not heard her! Arya is still a bit anxious & unsure around strangers, and prefers to be around her people for reassurance. She will need a firm, consistent leader(s) in her adoptive home to help her build confidence and learn trust with strangers. As with adults, Arya is still rather anxious & nervous around children. I believe with time, she will enjoy the attention of children, but for now, when children are present, she retreats to her favorite fluffy bed in the bedroom & chooses to nap instead. Although Arya is gaining confidence and becoming more playful everyday, it is important to remember she is dealing with a big transition and as such will need a patient and understanding family. Arya currently lives with three French bulldogs of which, they all get along quite well! She would most certainly do well in a house with another easygoing fur buddy! Arya has not been around cats but given her calm temperament, we think she would probably be okay with dog savvy cats.

Arya is still working on potty training, but she is getting better every day. She doesn’t have accidents in her kennel, however, if someone isn’t present to let her out the door, she’ll potty on the floor. Because of this, we think a regular, consistent schedule will help with her continue potty training in her new home. As with all of our dogs, any adopter will need to be patient and willing to continue working on potty training. Arya is crate trained and currently sleeps in her crate during the night and during the daytime when her foster family is at work. Arya does also get the opportunity, on occasion, to sleep on the bed with her foster family, and does just fine there too! For her safety, we recommend that she keep a similar crating/x-pen schedule when her humans are away and/or she is left unsupervised so she is safe and secure. Arya while still learning to walk on a leash, she has taken to it much quicker than we thought she would! So much so that she is the first one in line when it’s time to put on the walking harnesses! We’ve taken her out with both the other frenchies & her by herself, and she does do much better & has a greater enthusiasm when she’s walking with her friends (but, who doesn’t have a better time with friends?!)

Medically, Arya is in great health! She has been spayed, microchipped, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, heartworm tested, and has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian!

Arya would do well in almost any type of home but since she is still working on potty training, a house with a fenced yard will be preferred for her (opposed to a multiple floor apartment style dwelling with no yard), but it is not a requirement for adoption. Ultimately, she is sweet and lovable and will do great in any home that can play with her and give her the attention and love she needs and deserves. We know she’d love a family willing to offer tons of attention, cuddle for hours, one with a furry pal and little people who like to play gently and dote on her! I
