NOTE: Please note that it will likely be at *least* a 3-4 week minimum before you hear back from us after submitting an adoption application.  We typically accept for new applications for a period of 7 days or until 20 applications have been received for any newly available dog.  After that time period, the applications are sent on to the foster family for review and that usually takes from at *least* a few days to a week to sort through the applications, etc.  :-)  Most of our dogs receive several applications so this process does take some time, especially on dogs who are more popular for one reason or another.  We do require phone interviews to be conducted between the foster family and potential adopters, vet reference checks and a home visit to be conducted for all potential adopters, if they are selected as the top choice applicant, which will also take time to complete.   That being said, we do always let our applicants know if they are chosen or not. :-)

IF you happen to not be chosen, please don't feel discouraged as, again, we usually get several applications for each dog, and sometimes it can be very difficult to choose just one adopter.  In those cases, we usually offer to keep the applications for adoption on file for any future dogs that come into our rescue. :-)

ALL adopters are required to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person from the dog's foster home (we do not ship any of our dogs). Please have road/driving transport plans in place to pick up an adopted dog before you apply!  While we are not against adopters flying a foster dog in cabin on a commercial flight, please keep in mind that many are not good candidates for flying due to size and/or being a brachycephalic/short nosed breed.

If an adopter can not keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, at ANY point in time, they *must* be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home, despite distance and any costs that would be required to do so.

Amber was surrendered to SNAFU Rescue via a private party. Her previous family no longer could care for her and entrusted us to be placed in a loving pet home and to live the rest of her life as a loved and cherished pet.

Amber is a laid back, easy-going, friendly, attention loving snuggle bug.  Her favorite pastimes include curling up with a sturdy chew toy and seeking a warm comfy lap to lay in.  You can often find Amber searching for the much needed attention from her humans as she prefers the company of her humans and wants any and all attention she can get from them!  When she isn’t getting the scratchies and pets from her humans you can find Amber looking for her favorite chew toy, jumping on her spot on the couch and snuggling up to watch her favorite TV show.  After her show is over and the chew session is complete, she is back to her attention seeking ways looking for her people to snuggle up next to. She truly is content grabbing a snooze all by herself but she would much rather find her humans to share some snuggle time with.  This sweet, gentle girl is quite the cuddler! Amber is not an overly active pup as she much prefers the chill way of pet life with her human. She follows her humans everywhere they go in hopes they find their way to the couch (her favorite spot) and settle in for the night. Amber knows how to sit and is eager to learn and is especially food motivated!  She loves dinner time and is sure to clean her bowl so no one else gets her delicious meal. Amber is still learning the proper ways of pet life so patience is key. She currently lives with a foster furry sibling and is quite passive around them. Her foster sibling will challenge her patience and when approached in an aggressive manner Amber won’t back down but she will never start the event.  She is experiencing a big transition and will need firm leadership, consistent direction to help her learn proper dog behavior, learn proper dog manners and to know what is expected of her in her adoptive home. She seems to get along well with every human she meets (big or small)! Her foster family believes she would be best in a home with dog-savvy, gentle, children 5 years or older, a home with a submissive, easy-going dog or equally okay as an only dog as she truly loves all the attention all for her!  As with all of our dogs, we recommend slow introductions between dogs AND supervision around children when introducing a new dog in your home to make sure both she and they are kept safe.

Amber is 95% potty trained.  She has not had many accidents in her foster home when watched closely and kept on a schedule.  As with all of our dogs, any adopter will need to be able to offer her a consistent schedule to continue her potty training success.  Amber is 100% crate trained. She does sleep quietly in her crate when her foster family happens to leave the home and as well at night.  We do think Amber would love to share a bed with her adoptive family! She loves the softer things in life and adores the plush nature of her crate and blanket but a human bed would be ideal for this adorable little snuggler!  For her safety, we recommend a similar crating/sleeping schedule is kept for her.

Medically, Amber seems to be in great health!  She has been spayed, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, heartworm tested, microchipped and has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian!

Amber would do best in a home with a fenced-in yard (opposed to a multiple floor apartment style dwelling with no yard) as she enjoys the outdoors, exercise in the yard  and walks. We think Amber would adjust wonderfully to an office environment and would very much love to go to the office with her new family since she is the happiest around her people!   Ideally Amber would love a stay-at-home or work-from-home family member so she could spend all day in their company. You are unable to be at home or can’t take her to the office- that’s okay!  She will happily sleep the day away in her crate with a comfy blanket as long as her people can arrange a mid-day potty break for her. Ideally, Amber is looking for a family that is willing to take her on adventures, one with several family members that can give her unlimited attention and one that can offer her all the love and pets she deserves.  She is an absolute love-bug, super gentle, overly kind, fiercely loyal and kind dog.

If you feel like your family might be the perfect forever home for Amber, please submit an adoption application for her today!!
