Akiko was surrendered to SNAFU Rescue via breeder release.  She was bred to be a show dog but her her breeder is retiring from the breeding and show dog world and focusing on rescue work.  So, as her breeder did not plan to show her, she decided that she would like her to be placed in a loving pet home to be spoiled and live out her life as a cherished pet!

Akiko is a very sweet girl and just happens to be SNAFU Grad Azumi's bio sister! These two girls are very similar in personality! Like her sister, Akiko has a very easy going personality for her age!  She is pretty low maintenance overall and just loves to be around her people and hang out!  As with any long haired breed, she does need her hair brushed/bathed regularly. Akiko spends most of her time playing with the other dogs and the kids in her foster home. She has been around kids of all ages and seems to love them all!!  Her absolute favorite thing is being held and snuggling with her humans!  She also seems to love all of the other dogs that she's met and gets along with her foster fur-siblings very well. She is still very young, so she does love to play and has little ornery spurts of energy from time to time! We believe she would do fine in a home with kitties as well!

Medically, Akiko is in tip top shape! She has no current health issues, has been spayed since arriving with the rescue and is UTD on all of her vaccinations/wormings.

She has been working on potty training since arriving at her foster home and has learned very quickly.  As long as she is kept on a regular and consistent potty schedule, she seems to do great!  She is also crate trained and will sleep in her kennel quietly while her foster family is away from home.  At night, she sleeps in bed with her foster family or in her kennel. She seems very content with either option.
